“Hungary Revisited

With

Katalin Kiszel-Kohari

Tuesday,  26th September,Wednesday, 2017

It is always a special occasion for us to welcome back a speaker we have previously enjoyed but even more so when it is one of our own members. Katalin is the Assistant Manager of Overwater Hall and is presently assembling their new wine list.  She is passionate and knowledgeable about wine and is about to complete her first year of the WSET Diploma with her eye firmly set on eventually being our very own Master of Wine!  She has her own wine blog and loves talking about wine.  Hope you can come and sample her choice of wine for us from the country of her birth.

The tasting starts at 7.30 p.m. Please try to book as soon as possible.

Cumbria Wine Society

The Italian 3 ‘B’s and a ‘D’

With

Bob Lloyd

Date: Wednesday, 22nd August 2018

Bob Lloyd our next presenter is new to the Society. He comes highly recommended by the Manchester Wine Society where he is a member.

Bob is a retired banker originally from Bolton but has lived for many years in Cheshire. He now devotes much of his time to his main interest and hobby which is fine wines, especially those from Italy.

He is going to present to us this evening wines from the Piedmont region which is in north west Italy bordering the Alps and France. It was originally part of the province of Savoie whose capital was Turin. The region is famous for its delicious cheese, chocolate, truffles and hazelnuts from which Nutella is made. Tonight, we will taste the regional wines, the three B’s and a D. These are Barbera, Barbaresco, Barolo and Dolcetto and should give us an interesting insight into the wines of this area

Please try and book or send apologies as soon as possible so we can source the wines
